directed all the guitar scenes for the legendary music film,
“CROSSROADS,” with actor Ralph Macchio (Arlen actually played the parts
in the film). He was the #1 columnist for Guitar Player Magazine from
1982-92 with his column, Hot Guitar. He has ten best-selling music
books to his credit for publishers such as Doubleday, Macmillan,
Schirmer Book, Warner Bros., Music Sales and Ballentine, and his book
sales have topped one million worldwide. He also is the founder and
producer of Hot Licks Video, the world’s leading company for
instructional video, documenting the great players of our time sine
1979. Hot Licks has sold several million tapes all over the world, in
many languages. He is currently playing with a great all-star group
that consists of many players from his late great friend DANNY GATTON’S
band.
