Laurence Juber was asked to provide a soundtrack to a recent episode of Dateline for NBC....by one of their Emmy Award winning correspondents Dennis Murphy ( a guitarist himself).
The resulting 53 cues over the course of 40 minutes allowed LJ to express his musicality in fresh new ways and even get into a bit of slide and a few other surprises that his record company thought would make for an enjoyable album. LJ went back into the studio with all his song cues and created 6 "Suites" for this record. In addition to those suites.... 5 bonus tracks have been added which should be of interest to LJ fans and are complimentary in tone to the soundtrack.
"Lunchtime Blues" and an acoustic version of "Wayfaring Stranger" are previously un released tunes from the "PCH" sessions. "One Hundred Hatpins" and "Dialogue" (which features LJ dueting with himself on acoustic and his legendary '57 gold top Les Paul) are recently remastered versions from the "Mosaic" and "LJx4" days (LJ has recently been playing One Hundred Hatpins live ) and "Shenandoah" is a brand new recording which has sprung from LJ's teaching this on his DVD "Acoustic Guitar Essentials Vol. 2 Understanding DADGAD and Building Repertoire"...and the many requests for a performance recording which have come in are answered.
A great new LJ cd with plenty of surprises along the way!
