Classic guitarist Benjamin Verdery and folk / celtic / New Age
And now, from Nashville…Guts & Steel. This album
was recorded pretty much the way you will hear it…two guys with their
guitars, Bresh on steel string and Buster B. on gut (nylon) string. Two
friends pickin’ and talkin.’ Occasionally people would come in the
studio while they were recording. The mood never changed, the songs
didn’t stop. The energy and spontanaity can be heard on each and every
cut. Headphone listeners will hear little giggles and comments as those
spontaneous moments unfolded. We present Thom Bresh and Buster B. Jones
with “Guts & Steel,” 21 (yes, really!) tunes that will have you
holding on to your hat…or heart.
“There is nothing like hearing them play together.
It can not be duplicated.” ~ ~ Chet Atkins
In the artist's words...
I grew up listening to and being friends with some of
the greatest guitarists ever. They were heroes. My father Merle Travis,
Chet Atkins, Roy Lanham, Thumbs Carlise, Joe Maphis and Jimmy Bryant to
name a few. All originals. Then in the eighties I met and became
friends with Buster B. Jones. A man and guitarist that any one of my
heroes would have been honored to pick with and call a friend Chet did
know and did call him friend). He has lighting fast hands, an
incredible guitar thinking mind and knows what part of the soul the
groove comes from. I treasure our time together with and without
strings. He’s my friend and he is truly an original.

Few
people are granted the opportunity in life to see, spend time with,
become friends and eventually perform and record with one of their
heroes. Thom Bresh is the most talented man I ever met with or without
a guitar. I will always admire him and be proud to call “The Boss” my
friend.
